This section is here to help you find the information you need to help you see what’s going on nationally, internationally and locally in your area in regard to animal welfare.
These links are provided as a courtesy to you. We at Wanda's Pet World are not lawyers in any way but we do care enough about animals that we do on occasion get involved to try to make a change for the better.

There is so much one can do with the simple act of writing a letter to the right person at the right time!
Feel free to come into the forums and ask for help in discussing ways to help you get things done in your area.
Adopting an animal from a local shelter can be a very rewarding experience for both you and the animal! If you want a purebred, you can also find local breed rescue for your dog or cat desire by going to the CFA or the AKC websites and looking up the local breed rescues there. They both have extensive lists and information. But whether it be your “Heinz 57” variety mutt or a purebred, adoption keeps one more life out of a shelter and into a loving home.
Hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, rats, ferrets and almost every other kind of small caged animal can be found at adoption centers as well.
Horses, mules and donkeys can also be adopted through governmental (BLM - Bureau of Land Management) and local organizations. Local race tracks sometimes have retired racer for sale. When I had my horses, I had every one of them as adoptions from the local Standardbred training facility and eventually the trainer and I got to be close enough that I was helping him place these lovely horses into new homes as well. ©
